Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) - Maternity Leave Coverage
$50/hr | Chicago, IL | Onsite | Part-Time (Potential Full-Time)
Position Overview
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) assists the Speech-Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services to elementary-aged students. This role includes clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment-related activities completed under the supervision and direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and in accordance with established plans of care and applicable physician orders.
Assignment Details
Location: Chicago, IL
Start Date: Mid-January 2026 (estimated February 2, 2026 start acceptable)
End Date: June 2026
Duration: Approximately 5 months
Schedule:
Part-time, 3-4 days per week
Potential to transition to full-time (up to 40 hours/week based on caseload)
Daily Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Estimated Weekly Hours: Approximately 32 hours
Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Primary Responsibilities
Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in implementing speech and language treatment plans
Deliver therapy activities as directed within scope of practice
Support students with articulation, language development, and communication needs
Document services and student progress in accordance with required standards
Maintain compliance with professional, ethical, and educational guidelines
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from an SLPA program with an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders
Completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised fieldwork or equivalent clinical experience
Active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license or certification in the state of Illinois
One year of prior SLPA experience preferred
Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray per requirements
Current health certificate per state or contract regulations
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
