Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company's Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business unit has an exciting opportunity for an **Associate Equipment Maintenance Specialist (Level B)** to join our dynamic team in **Sylmar, California** . Spectrolab is the world's leading merchant supplier of the highest efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems, with proven reliability drawn from 65 years of space heritage. Spectrolab's state-of-the-art space solar cells and panels power satellites in Earth's orbit, as well as the International Space Station. **Position Responsibilities:** + Repairs and maintains equipment and demonstrates experience in these areas + Develops and monitors preventative maintenance plans + Performs complex troubleshooting, analysis, inspection, disassembly, rebuild, modification and testing of factory machinery and equipment as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics + Works with electrical systems and electronic components of complex industrial machinery and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications + Responds to and provides guidance related to routine and complex requests for equipment repair + Maintains and manages component and replacement part inventories + Follows safety procedures and regulations + Interprets schematics and diagrams + Works under Minimal supervision **This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.** **This position is for 1st shift.** **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** + More than 1 year of experience in maintaining electrical, electronics or hydraulic equipment, preferably in a manufacturing environment **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):** + Minimum of High School Diploma or GED + Experience with Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (MOCVD) reactors + Experience in vacuum system maintenance + Experience carrying out maintenance procedures while wearing SCBA supplied air protective equipment + Electrical knowledge and component level diagnostics + Experience in maintenance or repair of industrial equipment (semi-conductor processing, thermal chambers, automated handling, robotic equipment etc.) + Ability to create or maintain a periodic maintenance program in a production environment **Typical Education/Experience:** Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate). **Relocation:** Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
