This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of geospatial technology, data analytics, and project management. The Associate Project Manager, GIS, will support projects that transform data into actionable insights, improve operational efficiency, and deliver enterprise solutions for diverse clients. Working closely with technical experts, analysts, and cross-functional teams, you will coordinate tasks, track progress, and ensure quality in project delivery. This position is ideal for a motivated professional eager to grow in project management within GIS, transportation, and IT-focused environments. You will have the chance to develop technical and leadership skills while contributing to impactful projects that shape infrastructure and community solutions.

Accountabilities

  • Support the Project Manager in managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, document action items, and produce detailed minutes.
  • Review and validate project deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, technical leads, and subject matter experts.
  • Maintain project documentation such as action items, issue logs, and risk logs.
  • Assist with status reporting, budget tracking, and invoice preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S., or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project-related roles such as assistant project manager, coordinator, analyst, or project controls.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Excel).
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and contributing positively to team success.
  • Preferred: familiarity with GIS or geospatial technology and experience with state or local government projects.
