Job Summary: The Department of Exercise & Science invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track, faculty position at the undergraduate level, with graduate teaching responsibilities based on qualifications. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic mission by teaching a range of courses in both the Exercise Science and Human Performance & Fitness curricula, advising and mentoring students, and supporting experiential learning opportunities through practicum oversight.

Faculty responsibilities include curriculum development, participation in departmental and university service, and engagement in scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline and rank. The position may be filled at a rank commensurate with the candidate’s experience, academic credentials, and record of scholarship.

There is potential for the role to evolve to include administrative responsibilities within the department or related academic programs, depending on the candidate’s interests, leadership experience, and institutional needs. Essential Job Duties:

• Instruct a full-time course load in Exercise Science and Human Performance & Fitness tailored to departmental needs.
• Develop and implement engaging instructional plans that align with course objectives and foster critical thinking; online teaching may be included.
• Guide students through academic advising during registration and support their progression toward degree completion.
• Support departmental recruitment efforts by participating in outreach and engagement with prospective students.
• Promote student success by facilitating achievement of course and program learning outcomes.
• Establish clear and measurable course objectives to ensure instructional alignment.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of assessments and final grades.
• Encourage personal and professional growth in students through mentorship and meaningful engagement.
• Maintain consistent office hours to ensure accessibility and support for students.
• Participate actively in university-wide, school-wide faculty meetings, and departmental gatherings.
• Serve on university committees and contribute to institutional governance as assigned.
• Engage in program development and serve on college committees as designated by the Dean.
• Model Christian values and attitudes in all professional interactions with faculty, staff, and students.
• Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and others who impact the academic program.
• Participate in professional organizations and contribute to the discipline through scholarly engagement.
• Complete assigned responsibilities promptly and with attention to detail.
• Sponsor student organizations and support co-curricular engagement as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s or Doctorate in exercise science or related sports medicine field. Applicants with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in exercise science or sports medicine are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with a doctoral degree in Exercise Science or related field. Preference will also be given to applications who have one or more of the following certifications: CSCS, CPT, EP, or other professional certifications.
