Job Responsibilities Teaching 6th grade Science and ELA, 6th & 8th grade Religion. Teach students in a classroom setting, managing their work output in the classroom and behavior on a daily basis. Develop teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, exams and homework, homework and projects, and assignments that make use of all student skills. Modify lesson plans and materials as needed to make them suitable for students' current learning levels. Monitor and track student progress and issue grades. Maintain relationships with parents and legal guardians of students in order to keep them informed of their child's progress. Work collaboratively with other teachers and administrators, including special ed teachers and teacher's aids, to provide individualized support for each student on a regular basis. Collaborate with other teachers in order to share best practices and provide meaningful feedback regularly. Ensure that students meet educational standards and school performance goals for their grade level. Academy Teacher minimum requirements: Be a practicing Roman Catholic as verified by a Pastor's Approval Form Bachelor's degree (preferably in education) from an accredited college or University Attainment or pathway to New York State Certification Successful completion of a background check Signed Code of Conduct Diocese of Brooklyn Virtus training Up to date Immunization record Proof of citizenship
