Job Description
We are seeking a Radiation Oncology Physician Assistant for a 20-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins with orientation on Jan 2, 2026, and clinical work commencing Jan 5, 2026. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts from 7:00 to 17:00. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to oncology patients, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities and Duties - Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with cancer and other benign and malignant tumors and diseases
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical procedures
- Implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions as appropriate
- Insert and remove non-weighted nasogastric or oro-gastric tubes
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing and therapeutic modalities, including laboratory tests, medications, hemodynamic monitoring, treatments, IV fluids and electrolytes, EMG, electrocardiogram, and radiologic examinations such as arthrogram, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and bone scan studies
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Perform urinary bladder catheterization (short term and indwelling) such as Robinson, coudé, Foley
- Perform venous punctures for blood sampling, cultures, and IV catheterization
- Complete Death Certificate Protocols
- Remove arterial catheters, central venous catheters, and chest tubes
- Conduct fine needle aspiration and punch biopsy of skin
Additional Information - Must have an active NY license
- Required certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Experience in Hematology/Oncology and Radiation Oncology preferred
